Glee in Review: by your local Gleek.

Glee.

If you haven't caught the Glee bug, you probably don't love great music, attractive people and hilarious lines.  If you do love those things and haven't experienced Glee, I suggest you hop on this bandwagon immediately.  Especially because John Stamos will be joining the cast next Tuesday on the Britney Spears episode.

I. Can't. Wait.

Seriously, I am a closet Britney fan (not so secret anymore...).  And I have been counting down the weeks until Glee started!

I loved the new additions to the cast so far and am looking forward to next week.

Blond Jock boy?  aka Ape lips?  I love his voice.

And Filipino girl . Amazing voice.

**Side note, Lea Salonga--the singing voice of Jasmine and Mulan is also from the Philliphines. LOVE her!

I was so sad for Artie.  He so desperately wants Tina back..

I was also upset with Rachel.  But she and Finn still love each other.  Can't wait to see more of those two together!  I still get giddy over that relationship!

What did you think of this season's start?  What are you excited for?

Do you love JS lke I do?! Oh man, I never thought I'd have a crush on someone 24 years older than me but I totally do.

The Greatest Invention

Saturday, August 14, 2010

My dad is famous for 3 or 5 jokes he rotates through. You should ask him to tell you these. My whole family could quote them, but my dad does an accent.  Which makes the joke hilarious instead of just funny.

One of them he calls The Greatest Invention.

But this isn't even the reason for my blogging.  It just reminded me because I've decided what the greatest invention really is.

Pandora.

Ever heard of it?  If you haven't, You need to be introduced.  Not kidding. Go. now.

What is it?

Internet radio.

But not just any internet radio.

You type in your favorite artist, song, etc. and it chooses music like that.  Most of the time, I am very into all the music.

The other day it created a "Disney" playlist.  It started playing way old Radio Disney hits.  Back from when I was in Jr. High.  A long time ago.. I knew every word to the songs.  It was so fun taking a trip down memory lane.

Last week we had friends over and were playing some cards {sem ceards} We turned on the Michael Jackston playlist and listened to funk music all night and had a ball.

Seriously this is the best invention.

I love you, Pandora.

If you'd like to take a trip down memory lane, here's the song that got me:

not only did I save $450 bucks,

they are taking $100 off my next stay through Expedia for the "inconvenience"

lady on the phone: "Thank you so much for calling.. If you need anything else just call. I hope you have a fun time and a nice stay!"

me: "You too. Thank you so much."

what a pleasant surprise!

Saturday, March 27, 2010

got home at around 1am.

decided I wasn't quite sleepy yet.

so naturally I decided to check my email!

I recently booked a hotel for 2 nights through Expedia for a bunch of my gal friends and I and I had an email from the hotel saying they overbooked and that I needed to call this phone number immediately so they could find me other arrangements.

I've now been on hold (yes, I'm still on hold...I have my phone on speaker phone while I type) for 23 minutes.

It's great, really.

Elevator music for about 45 seconds and then the operater lady says one of six things:
(I only caught blips of the last two before the nice lady finally helped me again)

"We're glad you called! Please remain on the line so we can give you our complete attention! We'll be with you as soon as possible!"

"Thank you for holding while we assist other callers! Please be assured we'll be back on the line in just a few moments so we can answer all your questions!!"

"Your call is very important to us, and we appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance! Please continue to hold. We'll be right with you!"

"Thank you for making time to call us... ..and for staying on the line! We look forward to speaking with you in just a moment!"

"Because of the personal attention we give to all of our customers, occasionally you may have a delay!"

"Thank you for calling. We know your time is valuable"

BUT all the holding payed off! Turns out the relocation cost is not my problem and Expedia gets to pay the extra... and it just so happens the only hotel available is really nice! Score!

I love getting my money's worth! It's the bargain shopper in me!

I just have to tell you... The price difference in the two hotels is $450. I am so happy right now!! Expedia's the bomb dot com.

Magic in Manhattan

Friday, February 26, 2010

The past few days I spent in Manhattan. There is something about the city that is just magical. I brought S to the city, it was her first time (yes.. I brought her; as if I am such an experienced city girl). We got there in the afternoon, and after checking in to our chic and quaint hotel we got all ready to go to In The Heights (starring Corbin Bleu from HSM) on broadway. We stayed in the Upper West Side and decided to just walk from our hotel down to Times Square. Best idea ever. It's really not a terrible walk, and you see so much more than if you ride in the creepy subways.

We walked past the Manhattan Temple on 66th

We saw Columbus Circle and Trump Tower on 59th

Then, after a few short blocks we saw it.

The lights and glory that is Times Square.

Magic.

We walked around a bit, having a few hours to kill before our show.

Went to AE, M&M World, and to dinner with a view of the city.

Then we walked over to Richard Rogers Theater to get our tickets to the show.

We got our tickets and still had an hour to kill before it started, so we just decided to stick around the theater and take pictures.

While we were photo-shoot crazy we noticed this gentleman outside the doors to get into the theater. We started talking with him and he would go talk to other people then come back to us. We had a lovely conversation about where we were from, how long we were there, etc. We discovered he worked at the theater (yet we don't know his title, he never told us...we guessed producer)

He looked at our tickets before we went up to our seats and simply told us it was nice to meet us and to take care.

We climbed what seemed like 9 flights of stairs up to our seats on the very tip top of the theater.

3 minutes before the show started we saw our friend again. He came up to our seats and told us when he came back to follow him..

3 Songs into the show we saw him again and went down the stairs to the Mezzanine entrance to meet him. He then walked us to his seats to enjoy the rest of the show.

Box Seats RIGHT next to the stage.

We were so close we could see the microphones on the actors. It was incredible.

We hugged him and thanked him. He then gave us his number and email and told us to call him any time we were in New York and he would hook us up with other shows. Go backstage, have dinner with different casts, get really good seats, the works.

like I said.

Magic.

That was just day 1.

Pictures and day 2 to come later.
