Bad Mood Meds

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Whenever I'm in a dreary type of mood I seem to head straight for the chocolate. I love all of it. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups is probably favorite.

But on meloncholic days like today, my go-to comfort food is Dove Dark Chocolate

It's delightful

Not only is it melt-in-your-mouth delish but you get a nice quote/fortune on your wrapper. Sometimes they are hilarious and sometimes they are food for thought. I love it.

Here's to you, Dove.

You made my day a little brighter.

Even so much I felt the need to blog about you.

...mornings..

Some mornings I just don't want to get out of bed..
So then I just decided to make something I like to call my "morning playlist"
I'm sure you have something similar.
You know, songs that just move you and put you in an automatic good mood
My list includes songs that are:
happy
make me want to dance
tunes with a great beat
songs with great lyrics
everything that should make me want to get up in the morning!
Here are some songs on my rise-and-shine playlist:
Dude (Looks Like A Lady) - Aerosmith
The Future Freaks Me Out - Motion City Soundtrack
Ebony Eyes - Stevie Wonder
Easy Lover - Phil Collins
Be My Baby - The Ronettes
Paper Heart - All American Rejects
Hysteria - Muse
S.O.S. - The Jonas Brothers
Le Dasko - Shiny Toy Guns
There are many more where that came from.
Enjoy.
Good music.
Good times.
Happy mornings!

I Survived

Monday, January 25, 2010

On a whim I signed up for voice lessons.
Today was my first lesson.
Surprisingly not as scary as I thought it would be!
I'm pro at singing at the top of my lungs in my car

It was/is high time I learn to sing properly.

Gugh.

We'll see. :)

I get to choose a song to work on, any suggestions?

there's something 'bout the way the street looks when it's just rained
there's a glow off the pavement, you walk me to the car
and you know I want to ask you to dance
right there in the middle of the parking lot

we're driving down the road, I wonder if you know
I'm trying so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool--run your hands through your hair
absent-mindedly making me want you

And I don't know how it gets better than this
you take my hand and drag me head first fearless
and I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress fearless

So baby drive slow til we run out of road
In this one horse town I want to stay right here
In this passenger seat you put your eyes on me
in this moment now
capture it remember it

Well you stood there with me in the doorway
my hands shake, I'm not usually this way
But you pull me close and I'm a little more brave
it's the first kiss
it's flawless
really somethin'

It's Fearless

Have a little Faith!

Friday, January 1, 2010

If your goals are righteous, of God-given perspective, eternal in their nature, then go for them. Pray for the inner strength to have the discipline to do those things that will guarantee through your activity and your life that you will reach your goals. Then, I think, perhaps as important as anything, we have to have faith. We have to have faith in God. We have to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And oh, how desperately we have to have faith in ourselves.
We all are the sons and daughters of God. Therefore, none of us, no not one, should ever have a low self-image. We belong to Him. We must struggle always to keep in our minds that our ultimate goal is to inherit eternal life

-Elder M. Russell Ballard

I love this. I often forget to have faith in myself as well as in Jesus Christ. We are all sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father therefore none of us should ever have a low self image.

One thing I'm going to strive for this year is to have more faith.
