never forget

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

I just found out today that an old friend took his life last night. I was really shaken up over the news and could not stop crying. After silent prayers and talking it out with friends and family, someone mentioned to me that he just forgot he was a Child of God.

I can not stop thinking about that.

It's such a simple phrase but it is so important to remember. With that knowledge that you are a child of Heavenly Father you can't go wrong. Heavenly Father has a plan for each of His children. He knows your self worth and your divine potential. Never forget that you are a child of God.

I know that my friend would not have taken his life had he remembered that God loves him and had a divine plan for him on this earth. I know that life does not end here on earth and that I will see my friend again. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know who I am and that they love me and have a plan for me.

Back To School

A gal I work with was asking all about college and what it was like. I love remembering how I felt on my first day of college and other stories and experiences I had.

Here is one [embarassing moment]story I forgot about:

On tuesdays I had the same 3 classes.

Illustration 9-10 am

Watermedia II 10-11am

Health 11-1pm

I never got out of these classes early and always had just enough time to get from one class to the next to be on time.

One tuesday the Watermedia professor was gone; must have cancelled class and just forgot to put a note on the door or in the class. So, a few of us waited about twenty minutes before leaving.

I walked to my health class, just as normal, but when I arrived at my class the door was already closed..

that's weird... they never close the door for another fifteen minutes or so?...

so I just walked in as usual found a seat, got out my book, and note book.

AND THEN

I remembered that I wasn't late at all. In fact, I was just extremely early to my class and was now sitting in on the lecture for the class before me.

i was wondering about all those weird looks I was getting

So instead of getting up and walking out

I just took notes and pretended like I was supposed to be there.

It was so. awkward.

what the creeper.

Remember Corey?...
I stopped returning his calls and texts.
And today he happened to be online
(crap, i forgot to delete him from my 'friends list'..).
He proceeded to tell me that he was going to get a car this weekend so it would be more convenient to go see the girl he's interested in who lives in a different city.
Just to make conversation, I asked him who it was.. MISTAKE.
He says "well, it's you.."..
Me: Uh.. Have fun this semester! I have to go.
Creeper!

wedding receptions: Do's and Don'ts.

  • If you are a parent of the groom/bride, DON'T pull aside old-girl/boyfriends and tell them they're sorry it didn't work out with you and their son/daughter.

  • When a single-girl guest at the reception it's okay to NOT include yourself in the boquet-catch with all the bride/groom's 5-15 year old nieces/cousins/sisters etc.

  • If you are the bride, DON'T glare at all the groom's friends who happen to be girls. He already chose you. Don't give death glares please.

  • If you're the bride/groom DO smile. It's your wedding day! And a lot of people came to see you, so be cheery. If you're not cheery then fake it! Your guests will apreciate it, I promise.

Let's Just Say

that I may or may not have intervied with my half-dream job. AND it's looking like I MAY or may not have gotten it. eeeep I can't contain my excitement right about now.. I seem to be telling everyone and their dog about it. I'm just excited to be finished* at my current place of employment! :D Yipee! Just thought I'd share.

*People who quit said place of employment never actually quit. It happens more than often when people come back after [months]. I'm determined not to come back, as much as I love it.

PS. Sorry I haven't updated in a long time. Very busy gal right here! More stories to come later, I promise.
