smurf

I don't know if any of you have heard of this fun group game.
One person leaves the room while the group comes up with a verb.
It can be anything.
Anything from popping a zit, to brushing your teeth, to running, to opening Christmas presents...
After you've chosen your verb, the person comes back in and asks yes or no questions replacing the verb with the word smurf.
example: How often do you smurf? Do you use anything specific to smurf?.. etc.
Through asking questions the guesser can determine what the verb is. it gets pretty hilarious sometimes. And sometimes you find things out about people that you normally don't ask or tell.
Well, on sunday evening we played this game at my house. The group chose the verb kissing. My little brother was the one to go out of the room.
If any of you know my little brother.. You know how awkward and creative this boy is. He is wonderful.
He comes back in and is asking the usual questions
Have you ever smurfed?
How often do you smurf?
Do you need another person to smurf?
After going around asking people usual questions, things started to get interesting
**side note** You need to know that boyfriend was sitting across the room from me. I was secretly praying the brother would guess the verb before things get awkward.
But you know my luck...
Things had to get awkward.
He kept going around now asking questions such as:
Does your dad help you to smurf?
Do you smurf in the shower?
Then he gets to boyfriend.
Have you ever smurfed in this room?
The room busts up laughing
Brother turns to me.
Have YOU ever smurfed in this room?
By this time Erin is BRIGHT red. (because... if you know me AT ALL I am not the type to share kissing stories. especially in front of strangers. especially in front of family. And I just get really weirded out talking PDA/Kissing/Affection in general.)
Everyone BUSTS up laughing..
My brother knew what the verb was OF COURSE but he had to keep going and ask us that question..
It was VERY embarassing. And it is now the butt of all jokes.
We'll be sitting cuddling in a group of friends...
Hey, you two, have you guys ever smurfed in THIS room?...
etc.
so.
embarassing.
the end.

I don't like to be reminded how I need to live every day like it's my last.
I don't like to lose friends unexpectedly.
I found out yesterday morning that a friend of mine passed away in his sleep. Out of nowhere. He was my age. So young. Things like that happen to grandmas and grandpas. I was really shocked and caught off guard when I heard the news.
Later I went to our church leader's home to talk about what had happened.
We talked a lot about his life and the example he set to all of us. We talked a lot about the Plan of Salvation.
I kept thinking about General Conference last week and President Monson's talk, He Is Risen!
A part of life is death.
I will see my friend again.
Revelation chapter 21, verse 4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away

My Someday Wishlist
Saturday, April 3, 2010
Naturally, I made a birthday wishlist.
Because my birthday is in 27 days. Holy moly.
Anyhow. All this wishlist-making is making me want to make more wishlists.. and since I can't have it all right now...
I decided to make myself a
"Someday Wishlist"
This list consists of:
1. A Size 4 dress from Anthropologie or Banana Republic. (because someday I will be a size 4..)
2. Annual passes to Disneyland, and being able to go at my leisure.
3. A beautiful yard to go with my adorable and cosy home
4. Enough money.
5. A dreamy Husband
6. Perfect Children
7. Red Lipstick and lovely days to wear it.
8. Chhristian Louboutin heels in nude(or cream)
I'm sure I will think up more things for my list later. But thought I'd share the vitals now. :)

LDS General Conference.
Sister refers to it as the LDS Superbowl...
How is it that all the talks have to do with (in some way) what I've been praying/thinking about?
How is it that there is something in every talk that I can relate to?
How is it that I can learn something and apply it to my life at this time no matter what the subject matter?
I'll tell you why.
It's because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church.
I love the Gospel so much. I feel so much peace after listening to the leaders of the LDS Church and hearing their guidance and counsel given through them directly from our Savior Jesus Christ, who leads this church today through His chosen prophets and apostles.
I am so thankful for modern revelation. How would we deal with the world today without it?
Does anyone else feel the way I do?
<3
can't thnk.

I've been thinking
man, what should I post about? I haven't blogged in a looong time!
nothing. nothing comes to mind at all.
at all!
I am usually thinking about a million things. funny things. random things. any things really.
so.
I'm going to tell you beautiful people about my favorite nail polish color right now.
I never paint my nails. Mostly because I {used to} bite my nails. horrid habbit, I know. I know.
BUT
I discovered this lovely shade
Sally Hansen Maximum Growth plus in Vanilla Whimsy
I would post a picture of the color on here, but the color I found online looks nothing like the actual color. It's just a really pale sheer pink.
and she is a beautiful color on my nails.
made my nails look so lovely that I no longer bite them.
I'm cured.
It's wonderful.
