lazy laundry

remember my never-ending laundry pile that i despise?  i hate laundry so much that i have literally worn every article of clothing i own to avoid having to wash clothes until the very last minute.  thankfully today is Sunday, so i get to wear a dress and put off laundry one more day..
although i probably should do that today... or not.

the fast food place

sometimes at my lil fast food place of employment it gets very slow.

so we have to get a little creative in ways to entertain ourselves

to pass the time.

once upon one of those times{two years ago}, we got to talking about a common favorite tv show, the office.

perhaps you've heard of it

we decided that so many hilarious things happen at work, that our workplace would be the perfect setting for a television show like that.

so what did we do?

that's right. 

we came up with our cast list. which i just found after 2 years! i can't believe i kept it, but so glad i did!!

another reason i will never be a teacher

so

i picked up a job grading papers.

no big deal, right?
it's just a bit time consuming.  which is good seeing as i need cash monies.

i just need to say that i am shocked at some of the crap that comes in.

these are college-level kids writing these papers.  i didn't think i was a good writer until i read some of this stuff.

here are just a few simple guidelines to follow:

do:
follow directions.  and then you'll get an A.

don't:
mess with the margins
mess with the font size
(i will notice!)
throw in a bunch of filler words to make your paper longer..
(I'd MUCH rather read a shorter coherent paper than a longer paper that has so many words in it that your brain may just turn to mush because of all of the extra words that really do not need to be there and that someone may put in a sentence which brings me to my next point about run on sentences.)

Funny things happen at my place of employment ALL the time. I was in a music phase... Now I'm in a hilarious-things-always-happen-and-are-too-good-not-to-share phase. Phew!

I get to work the other day and see this:

this really old lady comes up to the counter and asks to speak with me

I go up and smile and ask how I can help her

She asked me if I was related to her friend *Sally

I said, No...

She said.. Well you two look so alike with your dark eyes! I can really see the resemblance!

Me: Oh! *awkward forced polite laugh* See you later!

1. Not only do I have blue eyes, but do I really look like an old retired woman?

at work yesterday, this awkward boy comes in asking to talk to one of my fellow coworkers, who is also awkward.

she goes to meet him outside and comes back in with this GIANT valentines day card ( I should have taken a picture. it was THAT good. )

It said something along the lines of:

me: so Mallory, is he your boyfriend?

Mal: I think so.

me: Cute... How long have you guys been dating?

Mal: About two days.

me: (Completely teasing) oooh. so is he a good kisser? (then regretting asking because I knew she would answer)

Mal: I didn't want to say anything... but he kissed me twelve times.

me: huh.... neat!

And I walked away.
