Nat King Cole put this perfectly. This is how I'll fall in love. When that gallant man proves that he is perfectly and incandescently happy and feels the exact same way for me as I do for him. That's when I'll give my heart completely. That's when I'll fall in love. (yeah, I'm a hopeless romantic... songs like this make me melt!)
When I fall in love
It will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love
In a restless world like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun
When I give my heart
It will be completely
Or I'll never give my heart
And the moment I can feel that
You feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you

5 easy steps to making a bridal bouquet from WalMart flowers
Wednesday, October 27, 2010
tools used: scissors, clippers, floral wire and tape, corsage pins and ribbon. All found at Robert's Craft |
WalMart flowers. Purple Stock, Pink Mini Carnations and White Mums |
1. Clean flowers (take off excess leaves/blooms to make flowers all the same height) |
2. Start with main flowers adding accent flowers and filler as you go, paying attention to color distribution |
3. keep them all relatively the same height making rounded shape **note**for a real bouquet you would need at least twice the flowers we used. |
almost finished! |
4. Trim stems to desired length. Wrap with floral wire to secure in place |
5. Wrap with floral wire, then ribbon for embellishment, using corsage pins to hold ribbon in place! Yay. There you have it. |

Fashion Remix 2010
Friday, October 22, 2010
it was a huge success, I felt like a celebrity getting to chill in the VIP area, with people coming around with trays of hors d'Å“uvres. It was very fancy! Most of the models were really nice. Like, 89%.

I kind of feel like I've dropped off the face of the blogging planet. Not to fear, I've just been ultra busy. I have a big ol' fashion show tonight. I'll be sure to have a re-cap post with lots of pictures tonight or tomorrow! I also have some thoughts and stories to share. Stay tuned!
i've lost it.

Pretty sure I am losing my mind.
today I completely forgot to finish off my makeup with mascara, only to notice 8 hours later that my lashes were looking particularly bare/fluffy. Not cute.
it's already october 19. I'm sorry, what? Where on earth did october even come from?! And it's almost over. This is nuts.
But hey, good news! This means Harry Potter is in exactly 30 days.

victim of creepy texts
Tuesday, October 19, 2010
...Have you ever been a victim of the "flirty"(aka creepy) text?
I came across an article in a magazine, which will remain nameless, giving seventeen year old girls ideas for sending your crush a flirty text.
I was curious and read through them, and not only was I creeped out that people would actually send texts like that... I was surprised that I myself have been victim of the creeper-text.

The same God that placed that star in a precise orbit millennia before it appeared over Bethlehem in celebration of the birth of the Babe has given at least equal attention to placement of each of us in precise human orbits so that we may, if we will, illuminate the landscape of our individual lives, so that our light may not only lead others but warm them as well.

my compliments
Thursday, October 7, 2010
i have never been great at taking compliments graciously. i usually get extremely awkward and just brush them off. awkwardly.
but perhaps it's not the complimentee, it is the complimenter and the compliments coming my way.
I was thinking about it.
I have recieved a bunch of compliments that perhaps they mean well, but just don't come out right.
for instance.
see what I mean?

your lips are real bright

I woke up at the crack of dawn to get some homework done before school.
all that homework made the time go by superfast and before I knew it, it was time to leave for school and I was still in my pj's.
my hair still unkempt.
so I decided not to go and to just get all caught up on my schoolwork.
and stay in my pj's.
and blog.
And it's raining/chilly outside. Today is the best day ever.
but now I'm feeling like I need to get dolled up. I am not sick, I have no reason to look like it!
:)
although I truly wish my hair looked like this when I wake up... This was the result of an experiment in sleeping in sponge curlers. |
a career assessment
Wednesday, October 6, 2010
This morning I decided it would be a fun idea to take a career assessment test to see if I'm really headed in the right direction with my chosen field/schooling. Here are the results:
My Interests:
People with Blue interests like activities that allow them to be creative. This can be through more traditional visual arts, writing or musical pursuits although not limited to these. The creativity is often expressed in thinking of new ideas or strategies that can have a broad range of applications. Blue interests often like thinking about the future and planning for long term benefits. Hobbies include: performing or listening to music, attending theater, story telling, journaling, decorative arts, painting. Career choice often are: Editor, Journalist, Teacher, Strategic Planner, Consultant, Performing Arts, Marketing, Communications, Research and Development.
My Style:
People with Yellow strengths are good at managing details and creating sophisticated processes that allow them to get complex work done. Once a game plan has been put in place, it is implemented. Their decisions are based on facts and carefully reasoned. When working with other people, they are fair and democratic and always can be counted on to deliver what they commit to.
That fit me to a TEE. I am extremely interested in all things that force me to use my creativity. I also need structure and checklists. I am a big checklist person.
and then it told me that I should be a:
special agent
criminal investigator
orthodontist
nanny
i'm sorry, what?
I was thinking more along the lines of illustrator, fashion designer, floral designer.. Do I look like the kind of girl who should become a special agent?...
...Didn't think so. Nice try, career builder.
