stupid bratty allergies

this week I've found myself sneezing nonstop.

I do not hold my sneezes in, either.

my sneezes are big and loud and obnoxious.

after my most recent sneeze attack I remembered an instance where one of my gargantuan sneezes created quite an embarrassing moment.

I was walking past The Jungle Cruise at Disneyland.

little to no people in sight.

one of my famous sneezes took over the Disney background music, and from inside a nearby shop I hear a man's deep voice yell, "Bless You!"

I didn't realize I was that loud.

I'm sure all of Adventureland heard my sickly obnoxious scream of a sneeze.

And of course Sister and Brother just had to laugh.

And then I laughed.  And everything was okay.  And I seem to really like beginning sentences with and.

now I'm off to find some benadryl.

lost in the city.

I drive to school in downtown SLC at least twice a week.  I rarely get lost.  I know my way.  I have a great sense of direction.

However.

I was calling the mother to tell her about school and my plans for next semester (sad, I'm already thinking about next semester!  I'm not even a month into Fall yet...) and missed my turn onto 500 S. to get to the freeway.  Before I knew it I was on 9th south and in a part of town that was not well lit.. I felt uncomfortable and creeped out.

Cue panic mode.

All I was thinking was "FIND THE FREEWAY NOW"  and nothing else mattered.

I turned right at 9th south heading West into a seemigly darker and creepier part of town.  Luckily I saw a traffic light ahead [traffic light=busy street=freeway] and decided to head toward that. Once onto the busy street I headed back north to find 500  S..

finally I saw the big blue sign pointing me toward the I-15.

I turned right, then right again onto the freeway entrance.

This is when I noticed something peculiar.

I was on 400 S.... Not 500 S....

And I was entering the freeway in the CARPOOL lane.  BY MYSELF.

My heart started pounding.  I knew for sure that I would be pulled over and get in huge trouble.

Thankfully panic mode was turned on yet again and my lead foot stepped in to play.  I hurried and merged into regular traffic and drove carefully the rest of the way home, dodging any sight of a po-po (if there were any, who knows?), relieved I had found the freeway without being shot/kidnapped.  (My biggest fears in the city).

Next time I will try not to be so distracted and miss my turn.

That was quite the adventure, though, if I do say so myself.

Autumn Air

Sunday, September 12, 2010

In the midst of all this hot summery weather there have been a handful of cool evenings I've enjoyed.  Reminds me that Fall is just around the river bend.

I love fall.  Everything about it.

  • Crisp cute-sweater Weather

  • Corn Mazes (not haunted preferably-- unless there is a charming young man to accompany me:)

  • Halloween.  Speaking of witch (ha) I'm going to need your help to determine who to be for this glorious holiday.

  • Changing of the Leaves.  Mm.  And crunching of the leaves while playing with the puppies outside.

  • Pumpkin Bread at Kneaders.  If you haven't tried it, you need to. It is celestial.  Truly.

  • Witchapalooza at Gardner Village.

  • Carving Pumpkins

  • Halloween Decorations

  • Scary Movies.  I've recently become a fan.  I used to absolutely hate every scary movie, but the more I watch the more ridiculous and funny they are to me.  Of course the scary movies I watch aren't extremely scary, but hey.

Mmmm. Can't wait.  I've already posted about this.  Maybe this will make you realize how much I truly love it.

whenever something happens worth blogging about I usually keep a note of it and save it in my drafts on my phone so I'm not sitting at the computer wasting time wondering what to blog about.  Apparently nothing exciting has happened this week because I had zero drafts saved on my phone.

Or maybe I accidentally deleted my texts in my sleep.  I do that sometimes.  I also text in my sleep sometimes.

I'll wake up with a text from someone and wonder what the heck they're talking about.. So I'll look at the text I sent to try to make some sense of it all and I will have sent it at 3am ish... Sleep texting.

From now on I think I may just shut off my phone before I go to sleep.  This means I'll have to buy an alarm clock.  Or two.  I usually don't hear my alarm on my phone.  It's a miracle I ever wake up.  Well, wake up on time.  I usually wake up with my natural alarm clock around 8:30.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?  I used to think I was a night owl... But I feel like I accomplish so much more in my day when I go to bed early and wake up early.  I do enjoy the occasional late night.  But those of you of whom I've had sleepovers with know that I do not stay up well.

I was always the first to fall asleep.

Oh well.

How was that for nothing to blog about?
